GLOW Fest 2023: Where Circus Arts and Community Shine Bright

Oct 13, 2023

In the picturesque beachside haven of Crescent Head on the mid-north coast of NSW, GLOW Fest emerged once again, igniting the night with its enchanting blend of circus arts, community, and creativity. Returning for its third year from August 17 to 21 at Waves Campground, GLOW Fest proved that it’s more than just a flow festival; it’s a true arts experience.

A Glowing Journey:

Thursday night set the stage with a heartfelt “Welcome to Country” by the Dunghutti mob, followed by the Opening Night GLOW Party. Attendees lit up the night with their LED toys and luminous costumes, dancing to the beats of resident DJs. The weekend unfolded with an array of workshops, fire performances, live music, and open mic jam sessions, creating a symphony of talent and creativity.

More Than Meets the Eye:

GLOW Fest’s workshops ventured beyond the ordinary, encompassing flow and circus arts, professional development, performance skills, live and visual arts, and crafts. Early risers were treated to tailored body conditioning and stretching classes, with the option to catch a breathtaking sunrise at the famous Delicate Nobby beach, just a stone’s throw away from Waves Campground.

Inclusivity and Participation:

GLOW Fest values inclusivity and community. In 2023, affordable tickets were offered in exchange for a 2-hour volunteer shift from each attendee, fostering collaboration in shaping this extraordinary space. For those seeking relaxation, a Play Pass was available to bypass the volunteer requirement.

GLOW Fest stood as a drug and alcohol-free event, welcoming people of all ages, from hobbyists to professionals. Guided by the principles of Community, Participation, Respect, Consent, and environmental responsibility (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), the event aimed to leave a positive impact.

A Glowing Legacy:

GLOW Fest’s legacy, which began in March 2021, continues to shine brightly. It’s a testament to resilience, bringing people together in the face of adversity. The event provided a supportive and encouraging environment, a place to learn new skills, and a canvas for artistic exploration.

Your Invitation to Shine:

Are you ready to experience the magic of GLOW Fest? It’s a celebration of creativity, community, and the beauty of Crescent Head. The event’s ethos and inclusive spirit make it a must-attend for those seeking an enriching and vibrant experience.
